The authoritarian strain of progressivism in the US gave us forced eugenic sterilization, prohibition, the war on drugs, and the 20th century forced assimilation of Native Americans. I believe in progress; I fear others with the power to force their vision of "progress".
That fine line between liberal progressivism and neoreactionary genocide.
