Wouldn't the % men in the more experienced cohort be much higher (and more likely to publish)? I could be wrong. How long have females outstripped male graduates?

Controversial old idea. Per cognitive psych, if we are motivated to define a purpose to our lives, then females have a biological advantage in that they can progenate with 100% certainty of maternity and thereby satisfy a purpose. Males keep climbing mountains.
