By “engineers” do you mean a particular kind of practicality and pragmatism in the psychology of China’s political leaders?
I mean many of the top leaders were literally trained as engineers; Xi Jinping in chemical engineering, for example.

Oh yeah, I guess I was curious whether a "pragmatic" personality type may be what attracts certain people to engineering, and perhaps that same psychology leads them to govern more "rationally" when they hold political power?

That and being accountable to no one makes for a rather efficient political system.

‘Trained as engineer’ does not make one an engineer. Top level communist must have started his pol/activist career in high school. The engineer degree is just a cover.
