Hahaha, I agree that's a hell of a euphamism (hence "indefensible")--as a part of the system, I criticize it, stepping out as a fly on the wall, the character adds to the fun. I think Dr. McCulloch's point to me was to 'separate art from artist', though?

There is a post-modern idea that if a rose grows from mud it is somehow wrong. No. The rose needs the mud. Eg: arguably Man's greatest achievement (Apollo 11) came about largely due to a group of ex-Nazis.
