Miller. This is counter-intuitive, all the while an reduction of current existential risks, such as destroying atomic weapons would only lead to even greater existential risk. Who would defend us if, say, ISIS got their hands on such weapons, and ours was destroyed?
My point was that some of the things that we percieve to be ‘threats’ or existential risks are actually, paradoxically enough, safeguards against that very thing.

Ironically, we artificially increase the militaristic value of having a nuke to such an extent that an enemy will go to greater risks of attaining a nuke. This means it's easier to honeypot them.
