Not all group identification is tribalism. People keep misusing the term. To feel a deep connection to a group that helps you grow, and in which you can help others grow, is a great thing! Tribalism specifically refers to a form of in-group love that leads to out-group hate.

You don't think most manifestations of nationalism around the world involve out-group hate?
-
No. I really don't. Australia Day for instance seems entirely patriotic and unhateful. You see this many places.

Is there strengthened I group feeling without changed out group feeling? The very difference is the change. The word hate is just a point on the spectrum for.that change.

Is there a strengthened marriage that doesn't make a couple hate other couples? This whole in-group/out-group theory is toxic.

Wouldn’t you say nationalism, as a political movement, may too easily produce a blindness to a nation’s faults? Or splinter into ethno-nationalisms? And can it not lead to irrationality rather quickly? (cf. WWI) Patriotism, as a general philosophy, seems healthier perhaps.
-
Globalism more often produces blindness to other nations faults, IMHO.
