We need new political parties. D and R no longer represent citizens
Every ideological House of Cards must keep its Overton Window small. If the Window widens even an inch in certain directions, the whole fragile signaling-scam falls. The House can't withstand open debate among free citizens, and it knows it. We're seeing its panic this week.

Nice to imagine, but new parties isn't way it works in US system. The game theory reduces it to two. What happens instead is that existing parties drift considerably so that within a short period - 2 or 3 decades, they partition the electorate space in completely different way.

The Germans pried the Catholic window wide in the mid 1800's and now Europe can't find its ass with both hands. As a non-believer, I struggle with defending religious institutions, but in this case the net result was arguably a negative.
