Nice thing about living next to Kirtland Air Force base is, that daily 7 am trumpet reveille through the loud speakers makes getting up feel like joining a patriotic national mission rather than just being an individual chore.pic.twitter.com/kyL0j24S7L

Wow, now I have to check if it is customary on Air force bases to play reveille so late in the morning. I always assumed the play time was standard on every military base.

I went to second grade in Albuquerque, in the early ‘50’s. Occasionally, giant B-36 bombers with their 6 rear-facing prop engines, would lumber low and very loud over our house, on their way to the air base. Unforgettable.
