General intelligence is the best-established, most reliable, most predictive, & most heritable trait in all of the behavioral sciences. Isn't it interesting that young researchers are systematically deterred from studying it, & their careers are wrecked if they do?

They aren't systematically deterred, though. Plenty of researchers study general intelligence. The specific associations with general intelligence that Carl was studying led to his dismissal.

There are fewer than 500 active intelligence researchers in the world, and fewer than 250 usually attend the International Society for Intelligence Research annual conferences. By contrast, there are tens of thousands of social psychologists. The deterrence is very effective.
