I actually thought that was exactly what the weapon she had Gendry make for her was going to do. Okay a master assassin needs a special weapon for the Night King and thought she would launch it at him or something. Turns out that was also pointless.

Could she have thrown the dagger from a distance? Close up on the night king pulling out his sword, focused on bran, ready fo strike, shatters into a million pieces, pan to Arya out of breath standing in the distance.

omg yes good point ... it's the "why didn't they just fly the eagles into Mordor?" problem that most fantasy has ... only real life can rule out the truly incredible and real life doesn't occur inside the fantasy auteur's head

I disagree. Why didn't they just fly the eagles into Mordor? Because they would've been noticed, shot down, destroyed, etc., immediately. Dragonglass arrow isn't a wholly different issue.

The lack of ranged weapons was aggravating. Also, the white walkers can instantaneously freeze water from long distances and control the weather. Why wouldn't they just instantaneously freeze everybody to death?
