You dont think Borderline Personality Disorder, in particular, has anything to do with trauma/abuse/neglect/familial dysfunction? Have you met anyone with this diagnosis?

Yes I've met plenty of borderline people. They often had bad parents with bad personalities. The transmission seems almost entirely genetic though. Without genetically sensitive studies, it's impossible to infer causation.
