To me, ‘Woke’ is the privileged generation running our family business into the ground every damn day and joyriding at night in cars we can’t afford, doing donuts on the front lawn of our family home while crank calling the neighbors. How that makes me ‘right wing’ is beyond me.

I want/try to love these kids. I want to help find them meaningful constructive purpose, homes of their own with families and futures. I know they are shaming me and all of us on social media because they are feeling ashamed of themselves. I want to talk about why and heal this.

Traditional civilization: young people work hard to get the approval of their elders. 21st century 'Woke Society': young people show total contempt for their elders, and elders work in vain to get the approval of the young.

It sounds like yourself and Eric are in a bubble of nothing but self-entitled rich kids—a small anecdotal sample. I would suggest that the youngest of Millennials and oldest of GenZ are struggling to get by and figure it out, as modern Western civilization collapses around them.

I teach at a large public university in the 3rd-poorest state in America. Far from a rich kid bubble.
