Holy shit. Students need to record this stuff relentlessly. Did anything come of this?https://twitter.com/Rissian9/status/1073844634420277248 …

Mixed feelings about covert recording of professors. I say some edgy stuff in my human sexuality class that partisans on both sides would find offensive. Do we want to impose a chilling effect on classroom teaching from fear of comments going viral?

Assuming that the professors words aren't being taken out-of-context, Professors concerned about having their lectures recorded need to take inventory of what they're saying.

Should professors only profess things that the lowest common denominator of public opinion would find entirely unoffensive?

No, I don't think that Professors should hold back due to some fear of becoming unpopular in the eyes of the proletariat. But Jordan Peterson seems to have no problem articulating nuanced, subtle ideas and he isn't afraid that people outside the room will hear him.

Good for him. And he's independently wealthy at this point, and doesn't fear for his job. Most professors are not in that position. Far from it.

Peterson wasn't wealthy when he first spoke out. In fact, Peterson has said many times that he thought he would lose his career. He even said that he was willing to die for the cause of speaking out and defending the truth. You keep making disingenuous points.

And what exactly have you risked in your career to support free speech, anonymous account?
