Assuming that the professors words aren't being taken out-of-context, Professors concerned about having their lectures recorded need to take inventory of what they're saying.
Should professors only profess things that the lowest common denominator of public opinion would find entirely unoffensive?

No, I don't think that Professors should hold back due to some fear of becoming unpopular in the eyes of the proletariat. But Jordan Peterson seems to have no problem articulating nuanced, subtle ideas and he isn't afraid that people outside the room will hear him.

Good for him. And he's independently wealthy at this point, and doesn't fear for his job. Most professors are not in that position. Far from it.

My only concern is that educators aren't being taken out-of-context. But, the idea that a college lecture can only be understood or appreciated by people in the classroom is a suspect assertion.

No, but they should be able to intellectually justify their statements, and no teacher should spew biased opinions as objective truth, when they haven’t done the work
