Mixed feelings about covert recording of professors. I say some edgy stuff in my human sexuality class that partisans on both sides would find offensive. Do we want to impose a chilling effect on classroom teaching from fear of comments going viral?

Lots of things used to be sacrosanct. They’re being eroded by the actions of some of your colleagues and the inaction of the rest. Have the testicular fortitude to stand by your convictions and being recorded won’t matter. Otherwise stop teaching. Such cowardice is doing harm.
