Evolutionary psychologists still seem to be largely on board with the nonsensical 'Semen Displacement Hypothesis', though primatologist Alan Dixson gave a pretty thorough takedown of it over a decade ago https://traditionsofconflict.com/blog/2018/6/7/the-human-penis-is-remarkably-boring …https://twitter.com/PsychoSchmitt/status/1117619288498737152 …

Most ev psych researchers I know are _very_ skeptical about the Baker & Bellis work and 'upsuck' claims, and somewhat skeptical about semen displacement theories.

It seems like there is a bias in the literature then because this stuff is promoted constantly and I've seen hardly any critiques of it other than by Dixson, who is a primatologist not an evolutionary psychologist. Are there good evo psych critiques of this hypothesis out there?

Well my emphasis on pair bonds & mutual mate choice downplays the role of sperm competition in prehistory mating. I'd have to look further for specific critiques of semen displacement .... https://www.primalpoly.com/s/2013-mutual-mate-choice.pdf …
