I've read a lot of bioethics work, and have never seen any that made the slightest bit of sense. It's all just rationalizing 'yuck' reactions.
Often, it's the bad (and annoying) bioethics work that takes its goal to be justifying 'yuck' reactions. But there's lots of work out there that gives so special weight to yuck reactions and engages in careful, precise analysis.
