I DON'T justify Snowden's actions, he was way over the top. But, NSA's treatment of previous whistleblowers, who tried to report probs in official channels and got slammed, barely dodging jail, set stage for Snowden. Intel Community has long fought whistleblower protections.

What Assange represented socially may have been more important than the details of what he actually leaked. This feels like a more controlled world than it did yesterday to me. Good or bad.

In this case the government hardly needs to do anything. The usual bootlickers are already cheering about this because wikileaks leaked about the Clinton's but not the Trump.

I think this is completely true...In the case of Wikileaks though, it is interesting that they have 500 pages dedicated to the United States and 5 pages dedicated to Russia (0 to Putin's murderous regime). But if we’re talking about Assange, keep in mind he was not merely a virtuous whistleblower—he weaponized selective criminally obtained information to accomplish one-sided political goals. Selective whistleblowers are worse than non-whistleblowers.
