Making choices does not equal having free will. If the centuries long debate in philosophy had been about whether humans make choices, that’d be a pretty boring argument.

I’m a libertarian. I wouldn’t define *free will* in an obviously self-negating way. Seems reasonable to label any persons uncoerced volitional act, within the limits reality places on them, *choice* — and, inasmuch as the word can have any meaning, to acknowledge it as *free*.
Yep. I think that's roughly the view of 'free will' that philosopher Daniel Dennett argues for in his work.

That's the compatibilist view but to me it just confuses the issue. For most people, free will is the capacity to do otherwise. This is the relevant part of the debate as it should inform our attitudes and policies. The rest is really just semantics.

Free will is like an electron in its orbital, we have the probability of making the choice A (position in the orbital) vs b (another position), all depending on the stimuli.
