Another thing which, imo, would help conservatives form beliefs about climate change that are compatible with the evidence is realizing that, even if you reject overly skeptical views about the physics itself, there is still plenty of room for legitimate disagreement on policy.
Conservatives would take climate change claims more seriously if the proposed solutions included nuclear power, geoengineering, etc rather than just 'destroy capitalism out of eco-guilt'.
Yes, that's part of what I'm getting at here, though I think legitimate disagreement is possible even on non-ridiculous proposals and that's a more interesting case, at least for a philosopher I guess.
