Linked videos from YouTube don’t show a thumbnail and description the way articles do. Since you have to expand the tweet to see what the video is, i think people overlook them

Sounds like good idea for an experiment : post identical tweet but without u tube link.

Linked videos add an extra step, and people are lazy. You're probably losing some people that way. I've also had mixed results when I link a timestamped video. Depending on how it is clicked, sometimes it just loads at the start, instead of the part I wanted people to see.

I’ve definitely noticed that on Facebook. And any link to YouTube you post on Facebook won’t come up in your “memories.”

Very strange this tweet registered with zero comments, retweets and likes when I first saw it. But going back to it a second time it shows them.

Eh thats a smart tactic that i'm sure they'd use it. Yea maybe I just post crappy videos but the likes/RT/engagements are noticeably reduced when I do post them
