Ass holes did this to me on Facebook (people I knew, personally, and was once close with) because they HATED that I disagreed with the social justice orthodoxy. They would also 'laugh react' my posts, but never engage. Felt much better after finally unfriending them.

Yes, a creepy realization about social media was when nice folks whom I was on friendly terms with IRL revealed that they viewed me as no more than a political abstraction. It's a sick phenomenon.
