On the Sunday Special with @BenShapiro I made the point that Christians should not cite the Bible when arguing about cultural issues with people who don't believe in the Bible. I've sustained a fair amount of criticism for this point, which I thought was rather obvious.

Now that you've made the switch, have you tried talking to fundamentalist Christians about evolution? How do you meet them where they are, if they see peer-reviewed articles as Dr. Seuss-like? (In other words, a la Kuhn, are some paradigms incommensurable?)

I guess I'd take a 'Natural Theology' approach and frame the evolutionary process as an unfolding of God's plan, with complex biological adaptations as awesome examples of divine providence shaped over deep time. Something like that.

I half agree. Theists should also make clear that they have absolute positions based on theism. In addition, there are prudential points.

True. As a Christian, I also believe that if the
@GOP could get off of their prejudice against LGBT, the party could gain a significant number of dissatisfied leftists. Remember, Jesus accepted EVERYONE. Don't allow the Left to retain moral high ground on this.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It's pretty obvious. If I read your book, what's the use of citation if there is no personal insight or experience. Same with Bible, apply the ideas & ideals to your perspective & experiences.

Not always true. If you're now a believer, you'd know that Christ ONLY used the Word for authority. The wisdom of man, quite frankly, is insufficient and dangerous. I've got no issues with a great philosophical debate, but you're discounting power of real truth
