Geoffrey Miller Retweeted APA Division 51

If you want some insight into the arrogance, sanctimoniousness, and self-righteousness of the @APA war against masculinity, conducted under the guise of psychotherapy, read this article.https://twitter.com/SPSMM_D51/status/1113805679914029057 …

“I thought that they really made an effort to integrate some of the perspectives of those who felt that males are marginalized by the whole nature of psychotherapy,” Cox said. https://www.nepsy.com/articles/general/new-apa-guidelines-for-boys-and-men-sink-in-after-making-a-splash/ … … pic.twitter.com/TpMG6tdLno

'The role of hormones was discussed in earlier stages of the guidelines’ development but that it was generally accepted that social influences override biological factors' -- ex-@APA president Ronald Levant, who helped write the @SPSMM_D51 guidelines

What books was Levent referring to that “debunk” testosterone’s role in male aggression??

I assume it was 'Testosterone Rex' by Cordelia Fine. Which is not a good book.

These are now political pseudoscientific organizations that are leveraging their institutional power to brutalize innocent people as a means of effecting detrimental social change that harms everyone. Exploitation and abuse are now both considered to be “therapy.”

These institutions are dedicated to committing human rights violations under the guise of good medicine. I have lost all trust in psychology. The law needs to take this apart.

Plenty of evidence suggests the opposite: that when biology and socialization push in opposite directions, biology tends to win. http://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/-the-science-on-women-and-science_160107817595.pdf …, p. 231pic.twitter.com/H63lRVR0E3

Another example: Girls exposed to high levels of testosterone in the womb develop male-typical toy preferences even when parents encourage female-typical play. In other words, prenatal hormones trump postnatal socialization. http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.497.7442&rep=rep1&type=pdf …pic.twitter.com/DbyEIWceAU
