Birth control selects for people who care intrinsically about kids

Almost half of newly married couples in the US met on an Internet dating site. This means that algorithms are breeding people now. There is going to be a huge rise in assortative mating as a result.

It seems the percentage of potentially childbearing people in the world for whom that ideology is a major factor in childbearing seems very very small.

I believe we are devolving. Too much dependency, group think, victimhood...

Nice take. I'll add that ideology at an individual level plays a little role in this case. It's mainly the level of development of the economy you live in what determines your success in ev terms, but with a direction without precedent; the more developed, the less ev successful

I expect the distribution of hedonic set points to grow bimodal. Happy people make happy kids -- great. But religious fundamentalist-types are naturally miserable, like my ancestors. They breed for their cause, and for souls to enjoy eternity after life is endured, "correctly".
