I think Nick Bostrom deserves some awe for his work on Effective Altruism, X-risk, information hazards, AGI. Also maybe @anderssandberg for the Aestivation hypothesis....

I've read Bostrom's work on existential risk and AGI, but I didn't know he'd done work on effective altruism. Definitely going to have to track that down.
