Maybe I'm being a bit thick right now, but I'm a decision-making making & stats geek and I don't get the joke. The best I'm able to come up is something about the archers defending their bayes?

Oh it's not a pun (you fell in the pun-moat): he means that would-be castle-takers only look for evidence that they could successfully take your castle, and your archers will be adjusting the castle-takers' priors—possibly permanently.
