I thought it was just the opposite, polygyn leading to inbreeding. There was a paper, don't recall the author(s), analysing this issue within fundamentalist LDS groups

Testosterone fueled chads don’t coordinate well, often aren’t skilled craftsmen, and don’t handle pandemics well on account of all the testosterone. Societies need a mix of skills since they all have trade offs.
