Does it matter? Global warming is still an existential risk. If someone says cyanide is bad in food, and also state that the earth is flat, what does it say avout cyanide in food?https://twitter.com/primalpoly/status/1112042694858039296 …

I think I see: Since AOC’s use of “x-risk” fails to meet the technical definition(≠ even billions dead as long as majority of humans survive), she can only be using it as a “hammer” to “smash” “capitalism.” Glad we can keep everything super formal and logically precise here.

See the original thread. AOC says we're not solving climate change unless we also solve economic injustice. Whichever definition of "x-risk" you use, its effect has to be at least ten million times worse than "economic injustice". Would you hold the former hostage for the latter?

Bostrom vs. "Most of these people". Again, Geoffrey, saying "It's very counter-intuitive." is fine, but you didn't tell me what's your definition/source. I 'revealed' my t̶r̶u̶e̶ definition here:https://twitter.com/bronzmash/status/1112417698082897920 …
