Does it matter? Global warming is still an existential risk. If someone says cyanide is bad in food, and also state that the earth is flat, what does it say avout cyanide in food?https://twitter.com/primalpoly/status/1112042694858039296 …
I've spent my whole career thinking about larger time-scales and thinking beyond just humans. Again, I ask: how is global warming an X-risk to humans? Compared to, let's say, nuclear winter?

NucWinter = worse. True.. Plus, given your career: a) Is X-rsk = death immediately or over time? b) If not immediately, given equilibrium loss, how long before planet surface becomes uninhabitable? What will be the long-term damage? Will humans cope? c)https://twitter.com/bronzmash/status/1112406742980272128 …

Plus,
@primalpoly, I note you got some math help & got informed, elsewhere.. so, I suggest updating your beliefs, before moving on. Stop shifting the goal-post & accept the help you receive. If caught in a situation such as this, make like Ted Reinhart instead. Peace!

..no, don't take my word for it - and killing off all human beings is difficult, we're a robust species. Instead, I ask: at what fraction of the population's death or at what reduced level of life-span should one start deliberating action?
