What are your thoughts on UBI?

This is probably the best answer to the UBI question that I have seen. Its the only sane response. Most don't even consider testing it, but jump to either demanding immediate universal adoption or shunning the thought convinced that there is no possibility of it being beneficial.

Depends on the type of UBI. Andrew Yang’s proposed ubi is only $12,000 a year. That’s not enough for anyone to live off of but it maybe enough to stimulate entrepreneurship, which will be needed with the loss of manufacturing and transportation jobs to AI in the coming years.

As an addition to our debt load 100% against it. As a replacement for current welfare programs: 100% for it.

Check out Rutger Bregman’s book. It’s full of examples of how UBI has had good results whenever it’s been tested in different parts of the world.

Literally millions in the US live on fixed income checks (Social Security, Alimony, disability, trust funds, etc.). Are these people contributing more to society for it? Honest question.
