A plant is producing chemical waste. Libertarian: They own the land. Build a barrier or move. No people means no business. Conservative: There should be some regulations in place. Start a clean-up company. Progressive: The government should ban all similar plants nationwide.

Libertarianism has no unified code and manifests in a wide variety of ways typically within the boundary of individualism. I just provided an example, as I explained further down.

The libertarian stance needs to give more consideration to the idea of closing the barn door after the horses are already out. Being legally liable for problems we know in advance they won’t be able to fix isn’t necessarily good enough.
