@primalpoly I've been thinking about something. If enforced monogamy means that the lowest performers mate at a similar rate to high performers, is that not inherently dysgenic (sp?)?

also, this is why twitter is incredible.
Of course, my thinking has advanced somewhat since I wrote the article in 2012, but even with semi-open pair bonds (mild polyamory) rather than strict monogamy, the same mutual mate choice dynamics would apply, and would maximize heritable genetic variance in many human traits.
