Why are so many sex researchers Canadian?
Because, seriously, a lot are from America but couldn't do sex research in America given the grant funding and IRB problems.

Out of curiosity, how do the grant funding/IRB problems differ in the US?

It's virtually impossible to get federal funding in the US to do sex research, unless it's very narrowly focused on STDs and public health.
