Mr. Miller, it is only right to respect one's ancestors. They made possible the next generation with the best they knew how.
Perhaps, those ancestors wouldn't be too displeased, given thoughtful, reasoned disagreements by the generations now in existence. Isn't it so?

Great post, to me it's having respect for tradition. The latin means to "hand down." While all traditions don't seem natural or may restrain us from instincts, they were given to us for a reason, and we should be careful before jettisoning them in the name of progress.

Half of mine is also, until my white mother married my black father and got disowned (for a while). But I still respect my maternal grandfather, and even my paternal grandfather who died before I was born. Why? That's just where I was born in Moral Foundations space.
