Most small businesses fail within five years. This is more like 'half of all commercial real estate has burned down in the last ten years'. But, point taken.

Wannabe entrepreneurs is right: it seems no one these days has heard of scrappiness. Disneyland vacations for the family every year with a comfortable mortgage on a big house and college fully paid or bust.
