Clearly, if I understand what "sugar dating" is, it's a euphemism for a form of prostitution. After all, the "sugar" signals that the relationship is based primarily on a currency exchange of some sort. If "sugar dating" wasn't prostitution, we'd just call it "dating."

In most cases, no. I can't speak for all marriages of course but the ones I'm intimately familiar with would not fall apart when the partner who provides the income suddenly couldn't. Many things other than money hold a strong marriage together. Unlikely true for "sugar" couples.
