You care more about chickens than humanity? Why on Earth? Chickens are a domesticated foodstuff. They have no other natural ecological niche. It's not nice or pretty or painless when a lion takes down a zebra or wildebeast. Chickens exist to be eaten. By us. And they're yummy.
