I also work on that, but it would be a hell of a lot easier to end factory farming and switch to clean meat, than to fix all of our politically contentious issues that impose human suffering.

I’ve never understood this argument. Chickens aren’t at risk, they aren’t unique and they’re typically killed for a good reason.

95%+ of factory-farmed chickens suffer horribly for their entire lives. Their deaths aren't the problem. Their suffering by the tens of billions is the problem.

By this measure, we should all eat pork instead of chicken. The loss of one chicken life gives my family 3 meals. The loss of one pig life gives my family a few meals a week for a year.

That's correct. Cows are better than pigs though because most cows live better lives than factory-farmed pigs.

I don't care about the 'human experience'. I care about the billions of chickens suffering right now because of what we do to them.

I think unless you're anti-natalist or not a consequentialist, "farming is bad because the animals it creates are killed after some time" does not make sense. Why not argue the chickens' life quality is worse than nothing - seems unclear but at least plausible - rather than this?

I think a chicken quality of life is worse than nonexistence. I think most pig quality of lives is worse than non existence. I’m not sure about cows. But I’d like to give up Logic of the larder arguments entirely with #cleanmeat.
