The media in general, especially conservative media, needs to stop using the term "progressive" to describe far-left politicians and activists. Call them far-left.

This is certainly true, but I do give the media a pass on this one. Rarely does a person think they are the extreme, so it's hard for media to identify politicians that way who share the same views the media does.

But as with some other concepts, already "idea-laundered", Right and Left are not primarily descriptive. They stand for "you should look at it this way". There's no Far Left in common use for the same way that people tend not to worry about being extreme in their correctness.
