Confused about whether libertarians were on board with the idea of a universal basic income. Are you libertarian? If so, are you in favor of a UBI?

Yep. The deal would have to be: (1) every existing entitlement program is scrapped forever (2) UBI Doing it the other way round would be very bad.

Intellectual property rights are a tricky thing. Should we be tithing to the descendants of whoever first created a wheel? Even if they have priority only by a minute over everyone else around the world that discovered it independently? I suspect not.

Same with AGI. We need reasonable patent protection to encourage innovation but not stifle competition. How is above my pay grade. I believe Hayek supported both a UBI and restricting copyright protections for intellectuals--to earn a real living and stop being socialist bums.

Do you think Artificial General Intelligence is the sort of thing that just gets invented one day? If so, why?

What do you think of Andrew Yang’s proposal? I.e. to give all US citizens over 18 the option to opt for the conventional welfare state (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, Social Security, etc.) or, for a $1,000/mo transfer payment (but not both).
