After a 9 hour flight from London to Atlanta, the line for US citizens to get through US immigration is 90 minutes long so far. Why? Is it really that hard to anticipate demand given scheduled flights with no delays or weather? #government

I was stuck there for 2 hours from London to ATL during the government shutdown. 90 mins seems excessive without a shutdown.

Try re-entering the country via LAX. It is predictable insanity every time. Also, global entry is one the best $100 you'll ever spend if you travel internationally regularly, especially to/from a major US hub like LAX, JFK, ATL, DFW, SFO and ORD.

It’s trump. That’s the easiest answer. Also, there was a fire in Toronto’s Pearson airport this morning which could have caused problems.

I believe that a significant fraction of the “shrink the government” sentiment in the US derives from the fact that the US government just isn’t very... good.

This particular example would be improved by diverting x% of dollars away from TSA and into CBP... The process is ridiculous and rife with optics oriented actions

British airports are just as bad. That’s arriving on flights within the E.U. Number of passengers known days/weeks sometimes months in advance - no excuse.
