Economics is a meritocratic hierarchy. If mating devolves into similar there's no safety net possible for the dispossessed and every study points to polygamous societies as being plagued by violence and crime from those men who can never marry for scarcity reasons.
Polygamy isn't polyamory. Not that hard to Google the difference.

Of course it isn't. The premise is if you embrace polyamory does that scale? Historically it hasn't and what you might see if it were legalized is a handful of stable polyamory along with lots and lots of unhealthy polygyny.
