Perhaps that undemocratic totalitarianism is precisely what will differentiate it from Japan :O I mean I hope not, but evolution pereptually surprises. I get the skepticism. It's not a final end, just a probability.

And, like it or not, 10x the cultural focus on asserting itself on the world stage, while Japan has always had an undercurrent of isolationism.

Not to mention their military might was rendered impotent after the war. China has no such issue, at all. Nukes help. It is a different situation.
