The phrase 'X needs no introduction' should never, ever be uttered when introducing any speaker X at any meeting. There are almost always people attending who wish to know more about who X is, what they've done, and why they're there.

The speaker is his own storyteller, and a good one at that. We can assume so, since he's paid to speak in front of an audience. It's unnecessary to sing his praises as his quality should be self evident.
