Well, I understand the spirit of what you’re saying and certainly the heckler’s veto should not be tolerated by the people IN CHARGE of maintaining the event space. But technically what he’s doing is not unconstitutional. You’re link doesn’t actually support your tweet.

It's an unconstitutional infringement on free speech for the university to impose a policy where security guards do not intervene to stop hecklers. The heckler isn't violating the constitution; he's just guilty of disorderly conduct. The university is violating

The problem is that there's not the will (or want) to prosecute.

Oregon and California no longer obey the constitution of the USA. The only time they are apart of the USA is when federal money is needed. But they seem to be getting away with it. Federal government is doing nothing. All federal funds should be held from states cities, Campuses

@Portland_State! You look like the laughing stock of free academic discourse. Or do you look the other way when you agree with the protesters? And yes, I would ask the same if a young democrats was interrupted by this idiotic clown.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I don't think the campus police were ignorant of the law, I think they were trying to provoke a violent reaction from the GOP students so they could arrest them. The students handled the situation well. Now they will make big money in a lawsuit.

Good to hear there is an enforceable solution for this. If he were standing outside the room, I would support his right 100%, but interference such as this should not be tolerated at all. As soon as the speaker/listener rights are violated drag them away.

Same goes for rightwing shitheads and their open carry protests. Have a counter protest if you must, but everyone gets to have their say. Physically occupying platforms in use to deny people having their events will lead directly to civil war.
