In high school, one generally learns in spite of one’s teachers.
I had the good fortune to attend an exceptionally good selective public high school with great teachers and attentive students. But I know it was not a typical experience.

I feel this is a very weak and unscientific assessment of high school teachers. Do you think high school has bad teachers? Solution: teach High school. Find out. Just bc college of education teaches bs does not mean, necessarily that HS ones do.
