Or even more sinister... political impact? I'm sensing quite of bit of contradiction all over this topic. We need an injection of consistency in argument and objectivity in approach. Not seeing enough of this, IMO.
My view is simple. Public universities are arms of the state, bound by the First Amendment. If they don't respect #1A, they shouldn't get any money from the state. Not a red cent.
