To be fair, diversity statements are what you make of it - I plan to write my diversity statement to center upon open-mindedness, tolerance of diversity of sociopolitical views, and defense of people’s rights to display their sociopolitical diversity without career consequences.

Not in the University of California system, evidently. But I’ll do what I want and with the consequence of that expose the utter moral bankruptcy and hypocrisy of the whole “diversity statement” enterprise and the intolerance of sociopolitical diversity that enterprise embodies.
