We should make clear, if it wasn't clear, that this is the position of Dir. Mashek. HxA has no official position on any policy, party, politician, etc. We literally cannot. We just have general philosophies and principles we try to emphasize to help people work through questions

As an academic consortium with more than 2.5k politically diverse members, we expect and embrace that our members hold a wide variety of views on virtually every issue, to include this one.

We do have a longstanding general philosophy that top-down or one-size fits all approaches are not the ideal. We have always had a grassroots, bottom-up style strategy. Insiders reforming our own departments, institutions, fields -- which is why we are a membership organization.
